Should you arrive at any other time please arrange transport to the Heinrich-Luebke-Haus yourself. You may call Taxi Schulte at Soest (phone +49 (0)2921-620-21 or -63) and refer to the Heinrich-Lübke-Haus. In this case they should not charge more than 22€.

On Friday, March 11, the shuttle back to Soest station will leave after the last courses around 12.30h. If you will leave earlier, there is a public bus leaving every hourly from the conference place at 20 minutes past the hour.

What to Bring

Of course you will be expecting – and rightly so – very interesting courses and evening lectures. But this is not all there is to the IK2016. The house and its facilities offer plenty of opportunities for getting to know each other on other levels besides scientific discourse.

Apart from the obligatory indoor pool and sauna/solarium you may play skittles, billiard or table-tennis (bring your bats!). The surroundings are perfect for jogging or those of you who prefer outdoor exercise. As a welcome contrast to all those sporting activities, the evenings around the fireplace and the piano will offer a chance to get together and have a spontaneous musical session, so bring any musical instruments or games you might want to play. Those who want to keep on discussing until the crack of dawn can settle down in the bar downstairs with an ample offer of wine and beer.

A grand favourite of all is the famous After-Dinner-Tuesday-Night when everybody who feels like it can join and contribute to a programme of cabaret and music. Hence unsuspected talents have come to light on this occasion! As there also will be some dancing in the disco, don’t forget to bring along your favourite music!
On Wednesday morning you’ll have three options: either get a clear head after a night of revelry, by coming along on a hike, simply stay in bed and sleep in or go for an expedition to the dam of Möhnesee.

Your packing list should therefore include sweaters and hiking boots, sneakers (for table-tennis and skittles), table-tennis rackets, swimwear, sports outfit, musical instruments, CD’s, games, movies, and the like. A nice dress/suit is highly recommended for the grand event on Tuesday night.
